If you use it all up.
Outside Europe, on the global roaming eSIM, your speed drops to 4G, at 0.5 to 2Mbps, rather than cutting off, up to a fair use limit of 20GB a month. In Europe, you roam at the same speeds as in the UK, and data stops when your Europe allowance is used, until it renews.
Streaming, tethering, maps, calls over data, at the full speed of the local network: typically 60 to 250Mbps down and 10 to 40Mbps up, depending on the country and the local network.
On the global roaming eSIM, unlimited data at 4G, at 0.5 to 2Mbps, up to a fair use limit of 20GB a month. Browsing, maps and messaging carry on as normal. Netflix and a long scroll of Reels might take a moment. Top up if you want your 5G back sooner.
Questions about where we roam.
Does every destination get the same allowance?
There are two allowances, not one per destination. Everywhere in the first zone draws on the Europe one, and everywhere else draws on the global one. Nothing changes as you cross a border.
What if my destination is not listed?
Then we cannot promise it works, so plan as though it does not. The list is the answer, not the number beside it.
Do I need to do anything before I fly?
For the first zone, no. For anywhere else, install your global eSIM from the app. It takes one tap and is easier at home than at an airport.
What happens when the data runs out?
Outside Europe, on the global roaming eSIM, your speed drops to 4G, at 0.5 to 2Mbps, rather than stopping, and browsing, maps and messaging keep working. In Europe, data stops when your Europe allowance is used, until it renews. Either way you can top up from the app.
Why are some places on both of your lists?
Three are, on the coverage list this page is built from. Each destination appears once here, and those three sit in the first zone because that is the better allowance of the two. If that matters for a trip you are planning, check before you fly rather than after.
Does the AI-only plan roam?
No. It is a number and a persona rather than a network, so it has no roaming at all. If you travel, you want one of the two tiers above it.
