If a simp called you

Version 1.2. Last updated 13 October 2026

If a simp called you, or answered when you rang a Simp number, this page explains what that means for you.

Who called you

The call was made by an AI assistant run by Simp for one of its customers, at their request. The customer asked their simp to call you about something of theirs, and it told you their first name.

Simp is run by Simp Industries Ltd. Registered in England and Wales, company number 16366317. Registered office: 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, United Kingdom, WC2H 9JQ. We are responsible for the information from the call.

The simp says it is an AI whenever you ask, and never claims to be a person.

A simp only calls you between 8am and 9pm, in your time zone. That applies to every call, however the customer set it up. A call to a toll-free number follows these hours in the customer's own time zone.

What we hold

  • Your phone number, and your name if the customer gave it or you said it.
  • What was said on the call, as a written transcript, and a short summary and outcome.
  • The basic record of the call: when it happened and how long it lasted.

We do not record the audio of the call.

How long we keep it

  • The customer can see the transcript and summary for 30 days.
  • When the customer has "Help improve Simp" on, a copy of the transcript with names, numbers and other identifying details removed may be kept for up to 12 months to improve the service.
  • We keep anonymous call statistics, which cannot identify anyone, without a time limit.
  • We keep the basic record of the call for 12 months, and remove your number from it after 30 days.

Who sees it

  • The customer who asked for the call sees the transcript and the summary.
  • Authorised Simp staff can look at a call when the customer asks for help, to investigate misuse, or when the law requires it.
  • The companies that run our calling service handle it on our instructions only.

We never sell your information, use it for advertising or send you marketing.

Stopping simps calling you

  • You can hang up at any time, or ask the simp to stop. It will end the call.
  • To make sure no simp calls your number again, email hello@simpmobile.com with your phone number and the words "Do not call". We add your number to a list every simp checks before it dials.

Your rights

You can ask to see the information we hold about you from a call, have it corrected or deleted, or object to how we use it. Email the Data Protection Lead at hello@simpmobile.com. Tell us your number and roughly when the call happened, so we can find it.

If you are unhappy with how we handled your information, tell us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
