Yes, Zapier can make a phone call for you.

Not a recording and not a chatbot on the other end. Put Simp at the end of a Zap, and the thing that used to need somebody to pick up the phone happens on its own. One of your simps rings the business and talks to a person.

Connecting it, once.

Simp is an action in Zapier, so it goes at the end of a Zap rather than into a settings screen. You build the Zap once and it runs from then on.

  1. Step 1Make a new Zap

In Zapier, signed in to the account you use. A Zap is a trigger and then one or more actions.

  2. Step 2Pick what starts it

The trigger is whatever should cause the call: a new row, a form response, a date arriving. This is Zapier's half and it is the part you already know.

  3. Step 3Add Simp as the action

Choose Simp from Zapier's app list and sign in with the account you already have.

  4. Step 4Say what the call is for

Who to ring and what to ask for, using the fields from your trigger so each run is filled in from the thing that started it.

  5. Step 5Turn it on

It never calls without your say-so. Every run puts a call in the Simp app waiting for your approval, unless it fits your say-so given in advance on a plan with autonomous mode.

Zapier's editor is theirs and they change it. If the screens do not match, the shape is still a trigger, an action and a Simp account.

Then just ask, in your own words.

There is no phrase to memorise. Say what you want to happen and mention that it needs a call.

When a form says a delivery is late, ring the courier and find out where it is.
Every Friday, ring the supplier and confirm next week's order.
When a booking is cancelled, ring the customer back and offer another slot.
When a renewal is thirty days out, ring them and ask what they want to do.

What Zapier does next

It fills the call in from the fields in your trigger and hands it to Simp. Then it stops, and the call waits on you.

The call appears in the Simp app

It never calls without your say-so.

The call waits in the Simp app with everything it is about to do on screen: who is being rung, what is being asked for, and what it may share to get it.

Approve it for now, or set it for later. Ask for a call on Sunday morning and it sits in the queue until then, so you can hand over something you would only have put off anyway.

This is the whole reason it is safe to let an AI set up a phone call on your behalf.

What happens on the call.

Your simp rings from your AI number, works the objective, and comes back to you the moment it reaches something that is yours to decide.

It holds and waits

Menus, hold music and being passed between departments, none of which needs you. Your simp waits on hold for up to 6 minutes, then lets you know so you can take over.

It comes back when it matters

The moment it hits something only you can agree to, it stops and asks rather than guessing on your behalf.

You get the outcome

What was said, what was agreed, and a transcript. Zapier gets the result so the rest of your Zap can carry on with it.

Zapier gets the outcome, not your identity. Your number stays in Simp, and the business is rung from your AI number rather than your real line.

What it will not do.

Worth knowing before you set one up rather than after.

It cannot dial by itself

A Zap can set a call up and nothing more, however it was triggered. It never calls without your say-so: the call waits for you in the Simp app, unless it fits your say-so given in advance on a plan with autonomous mode.

It will not pretend to be you

Your simp says who it is and who it is calling for. It is not a voice clone and it does not claim to be you.

It cannot spend your money unasked

Anything with a payment or a commitment attached comes back for your approval first, however it was phrased.

Questions about Zapier calls.

Can a Zap really phone a business?

Not on its own. It can ask Simp to, and Simp makes a real call to a real phone number. It never calls without your say-so. The person answering hears one of your simps.

Does an automated Zap still need me to approve the call?

Yes, unless you have given your say-so in advance. It never calls without your say-so: every run waits in the Simp app for your approval, or, on a plan with autonomous mode, goes ahead on your say-so given in advance, as rules you set for your AI apps.

Which plan do I need?

Any of them. Every Simp plan can connect every AI app we support. The only difference is autonomous mode, on Simp Pro: your say-so given in advance, as rules you set for your AI apps.

What if a Zap fires when I am asleep?

The call waits. It sits in the app until you approve it, and you can set it for a time rather than approving it for now.

Not a Zapier person?

It works the same way from the other assistants, and each one connects a little differently.

The apps it works with

You need a Simp plan.

AI calling comes with every plan, including the AI-only one that sits alongside the network you are already on, and every plan can connect every AI app we support.
