Privacy policy
Version 1.3. Last updated 4 November 2026
This policy explains what personal information Simp collects in Canada, why, who helps us handle it, where it is processed, how long we keep it and what you can do about it. It applies to our customers in Canada, to visitors to our Canadian website, and to the people our simps speak to in Canada.
1. Who we are, and who is in charge
1.1 Simp Industries Ltd. Registered in England and Wales, company number 16366317. Registered office: 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, United Kingdom, WC2H 9JQ. We are responsible for the personal information described in this policy, including information we pass to the companies that help us run Simp.
1.2 The Data Protection Lead is accountable for how we protect personal information, and is the person in charge of the protection of personal information under Quebec law. You can reach them at hello@simpmobile.com, or by post to 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, United Kingdom, WC2H 9JQ, marked for the attention of the Data Protection Lead.
1.3 We keep written rules on who at Simp may access personal information, how long we keep it and how we destroy it, and how we handle requests, complaints and incidents. Before we build or substantially change a system that handles personal information, we assess its effect on privacy.
2. What we collect from customers
- Your account: your name and email address from Apple or Google when you sign in, your date of birth, your province or territory, your first name as your simp uses it, the version of our terms you accepted and when, and your settings and choices.
- Your plan and payments: your plan, billing periods, charges, taxes, refunds and whether payments went through. Your card number never reaches us. Our payment provider holds it and checks your card when you pay. We keep a reference to the card, its brand, last four digits, expiry date and the country that issued it.
- Your AI numbers and minutes: your AI numbers, your minutes used and left, and your top-ups.
- Your calls: everything described in section 3.
- About You: the facts you give your simp to use on calls, and whether each may be shared, must be asked about first, or must never be shared. Facts you mark as sensitive are encrypted.
- Your contacts: the name and number of each person or business you ask your simp to call, and the contact list the app builds from your calls.
- Your device and the app: the type of phone, its operating system, the app version, the identifiers that let us send you notifications, and how you use the app.
- Support: your conversations with our support assistant and with our team, and anything you send us.
- Rewards and the contest: your coins, referrals, spins, results, answers and prizes.
- From others: Apple or Google when you sign in, our payment provider, the platform that runs your subscription and billing, a connected AI app when it asks your simp to do something for you (section 4), and another Simp customer whose simp calls you.
3. Your calls
3.1 How a call works. You set up a call in the app, or a connected AI app asks for one. Your simp calls from your AI number. At the start of every call it says its persona's name, that it is an AI, that it is calling for you by your first name, and that the call is transcribed. What the other person says is turned into text as they say it, an AI model works out what your simp says next, and a voice service speaks it. After the call, an AI model writes your summary and works out the outcome.
3.2 What we handle. The live audio of the call, which is processed as the call happens and not stored. The transcript, your notes, the summary and the outcome. Your instructions for the call and the facts your simp was allowed to share. The basic record of the call: when it happened, how long it lasted, the number called, its cost and the minutes it used.
3.3 Why. To make the call you asked for, show you what happened, bill you, help you when you contact support, keep calls safe and lawful, prevent misuse and fraud, and meet our legal obligations.
3.4 Seeing your calls. You can see each call's transcript, summary and notes in the app for 30 days. Then they are deleted. You cannot delete a single call. Deleting your account deletes your calls.
3.5 Help improve Simp. If you turn on "Help improve Simp" in the app, we keep de-identified copies of your transcripts, with the details that identify you and the people you called removed, for up to 12 months from the call and only while the setting is on, and use them to train and improve the service. Then we delete them. In Canada this setting starts off. You can change it at any time, and nothing about how Simp works for you depends on it. We keep anonymous call statistics, which cannot identify anyone, without a time limit.
3.6 When our team looks at a call. Authorized staff may look at a call when you ask us to, to investigate suspected misuse or fraud, or when the law requires it. Every look is logged.
3.7 Automated decisions. Some limits apply automatically, such as limits on how many calls can be started. If a decision about you is made only by automated processing, we tell you, and on request we tell you the information and the main reasons behind it, and a person on our team will review it.
4. Connected AI apps
4.1 Connecting an app. You can connect an AI app, like ChatGPT or Claude, to your Simp account so it can ask your simp to make calls and do other tasks for you. Nothing is connected unless you connect it, and you approve each connection yourself.
4.2 What a connected app can see.
- Your simps' names and descriptions, your AI numbers, the AI minutes you have left, whether a new task can start right now, and the rules you set for that app, such as whether its requests wait for your OK.
- Your first name, only if you allow your simp to share it.
- Whether you have added your own mobile number (yes or no).
- Your recent tasks, including the ones you started in the Simp app, not only the ones it asked for: what each one is for, who it is for (their name, or their number if there is no name), how it is going, which simp is doing it, any question your simp is waiting for you to answer, and the result and a short summary. The full written transcript of a call stays in the Simp app.
- If you ask it a question for Simp support: support's answer and a list of your support cases. For anything about your plan, bills or your number, it points you to the Simp app.
We remove a call's transcript and summary after 30 days, and a finished task's details 30 days after it ends, so the app can no longer see them either. A connected app never gets your email address, home address, date of birth, payment card details or bill amounts from us, or the transcript of a call. We don't record call audio, so there is none to share.
4.3 What a connected app sends us. What you want done, in your words; who it is for, with their name and number or another way to reach them; which simp and AI number to use, and when; and which of your About You details your simp may share for that task. It names the details, and your simp uses what you saved in About You. It can also send us your answers to your simp's questions, cancel a task, and send your questions to Simp support, which opens a support case on your account.
4.4 Your OK comes first. Unless you change that app's rules in the Simp app (autonomous mode, on Simp Pro), nothing it asks for goes ahead until you approve it in the Simp app. Even with rules in place, a request to share a detail you haven't allowed for that app waits for your OK.
4.5 Once it's with the app. Anything a connected app receives is then held by the company that runs that app, under its own privacy policy. When we remove a call's details, or you delete your Simp account, a copy the app already has is not deleted.
4.6 Disconnecting. You can disconnect an app at any time in the Simp app: open Profile, tap AI apps, choose the app and tap Disconnect. Its access to your account stops straight away. You can also remove Simp in the AI app's own settings; to be sure its access has ended, disconnect it in the Simp app too.
4.7 How long we keep it. Tasks and calls a connected app asks for are kept like any others (section 9): you can see a call's transcript and summary for 30 days, and the app its summary. Questions it sends to support are kept with your support cases for 2 years. We keep a record of each app you connect, when you connected it and when you disconnected it, until you close your account.
5. The people our simps speak to
5.1 When your simp calls someone, or someone calls your AI number, we handle their number, their name if it is given, what they say (as a transcript) and the outcome. Their voice is processed live and not stored.
5.2 We use this only to make and report on the call, and for the safety and misuse purposes in section 3.3. The customer who asked for the call sees the transcript and summary for 30 days.
5.3 Anyone our simps have spoken to can use the rights in section 10, and can ask that no simp calls their number again, by emailing hello@simpmobile.com.
6. Our website
6.1 If you join a waitlist, we keep your email address and the country you want, and email you only about Simp opening there. If you send a partner enquiry, we keep what you wrote and use it to reply.
6.2 We count visits to our website with a random id that is linked to nothing about who you are. You can turn this off at any time, and we treat Global Privacy Control as a no. In Canada we do not link your website visits to your Simp account. Our cookie notice lists every cookie.
7. Who we share information with
7.1 Companies that work for us, only on our instructions and under written contracts that require them to protect it:
- the services that run AI calling: our voice platform, phone networks, speech to text, AI language models and voices;
- AI language models that run our support assistant;
- our database, hosting and storage providers;
- our sign-in provider;
- our email and notification providers;
- our analytics provider, in the European Union; and
- the platform that runs your subscription and billing.
7.2 Companies that decide for themselves what they do with information: Apple and Google when you sign in, our payment provider for its own fraud prevention, and any AI app you connect, which receives what section 4 describes. Each has its own privacy policy.
7.3 The people your simp speaks to hear your first name and anything you allowed your simp to share.
7.4 Courts, authorities and regulators, when the law requires or allows it, or to protect someone from serious harm.
7.5 A buyer of our business, if Simp or part of it is sold or merged, under the conditions the law sets.
7.6 We never sell your personal information and never use it for advertising.
8. Where your information is processed
8.1 We are a company in England. Your information is stored in the United Kingdom. Some of the companies that work for us process it in the United States, and our analytics are in the European Union. So your information is processed outside Canada, and outside Quebec.
8.2 While it is in another country, it is subject to that country's laws, and courts and authorities there may be able to require it to be handed over.
8.3 Every company that handles your information for us is bound by contract to protect it to a standard comparable to the one Canadian law expects of us. Before personal information of a person in Quebec is communicated outside Quebec, we assess whether it will be adequately protected, and we send it only under a written agreement that reflects that assessment.
9. How long we keep it
| What | How long |
|---|---|
| Your account | While it is open. When it closes, everything is deleted except billing records |
| Billing records | 6 years after your account closes |
| Call transcripts, summaries and notes | 30 days, visible to you, then deleted |
| De-identified copies of transcripts | Up to 12 months from the call, only while "Help improve Simp" is on |
| Anonymous call statistics, which cannot identify anyone | No time limit |
| Call audio | Not stored |
| Basic call records | 12 months, with the number called removed after 30 days |
| Support cases | 2 years |
| Connected AI apps: which apps you connected, and when you connected and disconnected them | Until you close your account |
| Waitlist sign-ups | Until we open in your country, plus 6 months |
| Audit logs | 2 years |
| Backups | 35 days, then overwritten |
When a period ends, we delete the information or anonymize it so that nobody can be identified from it.
Information we held before 13 October 2026 is kept until 31 December 2026 and then deleted under these rules.
10. Your rights
10.1 You can:
- ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and how we have used and shared it;
- ask us to correct anything that is wrong or incomplete;
- withdraw your consent, subject to the law and to our contract with you (if you withdraw consent to what the service needs, we can no longer provide it);
- delete your account; and
- complain to us and to a regulator (section 12).
10.2 If you live in Quebec, you can also ask for the information you gave us in a structured, commonly used technological format, ask us to stop disseminating information about you or to de-index a link to it in the cases the law sets out, and ask what information we hold, who at Simp can access it, how long we keep it, and how to reach the Data Protection Lead.
10.3 To use a right, email hello@simpmobile.com, or ask our support assistant in the app. We may need to check it is you. We answer within 30 days and do not charge. If we refuse, we tell you why in writing and how to complain.
10.4 What we keep after you delete your account. Billing records for the time in section 9; a one-way code made from your email address, so the same promotion cannot be claimed twice; your Simp handle, held for 90 days so nobody else takes it at once; cost records that hold nothing about you; messages from our providers about past calls, which expire within 30 days; and a minimal record that the deletion happened.
11. Marketing
11.1 We send marketing email when you have agreed to it, or, after you buy from us, for 2 years after your purchase, as Canada's anti-spam law allows. Every marketing email says it is from Simp Industries Ltd, gives our mailing address, 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, United Kingdom, WC2H 9JQ, and has an unsubscribe link. When you unsubscribe, we stop within 10 business days.
11.2 Messages about your plan and your account, such as receipts and notices of changes, are not marketing, and we send them while you have an account.
12. Complaints
12.1 If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, email hello@simpmobile.com and say it is a privacy complaint.
12.2 You can also complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca, and, if you live in Quebec, to the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec at cai.gouv.qc.ca.
13. Security and incidents
13.1 We protect personal information with safeguards that match how sensitive it is. Only staff whose work needs it can access it, through roles that limit what each can do, and access is logged.
13.2 If an incident creates a real risk of significant harm to you, or in Quebec a risk of serious injury, we report it to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec, or both, and tell you as soon as we can. We keep a register of every incident.
14. Children
14.1 Simp is for adults. You must have reached the age of majority in your province or territory to buy a plan.
15. Changes to this policy
15.1 When we change this policy, we publish the new version here. If a change affects how we use your information, we tell you by email before it takes effect, and we ask for your consent where the law requires it.
16. Contact
16.1 Email the Data Protection Lead at hello@simpmobile.com, or write to 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, United Kingdom, WC2H 9JQ. This policy is written in English. If you live in Quebec, a French version is available on request.
