How to stop spam calls
Block them, turn on your phone's spam filter, and give out a number that screens calls for you.
What you can do today.
On the phone you already have. Two settings do most of the work, and a free register does the rest.
Block a numberPhone > Recents > info button > Block CallerTap the info button next to the number. Blocked numbers can no longer call, text or FaceTime you.
Filter unknown callersSettings > Apps > Phone > Screen Unknown CallersChoose Silence, and calls from numbers you have not saved go straight to voicemail and still show in Recents.
Register with the National Do Not Call Listlnnte-dncl.gc.ca - freeMost telemarketers must stop calling you within 31 days. Scammers ignore it.
- Block a numberPhone > Recents > tap and hold > Block / report spam
Leave Report call as spam ticked - it helps flag the number for everyone else.
- Filter unknown callersPhone > Settings > Caller ID and spam protection
Turn on Filter spam calls as well, so suspected spam never rings. Menu names vary a little by phone maker.

The catch: filters can't tell spam from a genuine caller on a number you don't know - a courier, a callback you asked for. They get silenced too.

Will Simp stop spam calls to my existing number?
No. Your simp only answers calls to your AI number - the second number that comes with your plan. Calls to your existing number ring you directly, as they do now, so keep your phone's own filters on for that line.
