How to cancel a subscription
First check where you signed up: subscriptions bought through the App Store or Google Play are cancelled in your phone's settings, not with the company. Otherwise cancel in your account or call them, do it before the renewal date, and get the cancellation confirmed in writing. Or let your simp make the call and say no to the retention offers for you.
What you can do yourself.
Every company works differently, so treat these as what usually works rather than what always does.
Signed up in an app?Settings > your name > SubscriptionsSubscriptions bought through the App Store are cancelled here, not with the company.
Cancel in your accountOtherwise, look for a cancel option in your account on the company's website or app.
Beat the renewal dateCheck the notice period and renewal date, and cancel before it renews.
Expect an offer to stayDecide beforehand whether any offer would change your mind, so you're not deciding on the spot.
Get it in writingAsk for confirmation by email and keep the reference number.
Cancel the contract tooCancelling the automatic payment (card or bank) on its own doesn't cancel the contract. Cancel with the company as well.
Still being charged? If you're charged after cancelling, contact your bank with your confirmation.

The catch: some companies make cancelling a long phone call, with an offer to stay at every step. Holding firm takes time.
How a simp does it.
Alex wanted out of a subscription. Avery called, asked to cancel, turned down the offer to stay and came back with the confirmation and reference.

Tell your simp what to cancel. It calls, asks to cancel, turns down the offers to stay, and comes back with the confirmation and reference.
If they need you, you take over.
Some companies will only cancel with the account holder, or only online. If they do, your simp gets you to the right team for you to take over in the Simp app, or tells you where to do it.

Questions about cancelling a subscription.
What if they offer me a deal to stay?
Your simp turns it down unless you say yes when it asks you.
What your simp is allowed to doCan my simp cancel subscriptions bought through the App Store or Google Play?
No, those are cancelled in your phone's settings. On iPhone, go to Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions. On Android, open Google Play, tap your profile, then Payments and subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
See the steps aboveWhat if they ask for security details?
You tap Take over in the Simp app and answer them yourself. It never gives out your passwords, PINs or security answers.
What your simp is allowed to doDoes it use my AI minutes?
Yes. The whole call counts towards your monthly AI minutes, time on hold included. Your simp waits on hold for up to 6 minutes, then lets you know so you can take over. You can top up in the app if you run low.
Compare the plansLet your simp say no to the offers.
Every plan comes with a simp that makes the call and comes back with the confirmation.
