Cookie notice
Version 1.5. Last updated 4 November 2026
This page lists everything our website keeps in your browser, what each thing is for and how long it stays. Nothing here is used for advertising, and nothing is shared with advertisers.
We count visits to the site unless you turn that off, which takes one press below. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control, we read that as a no.
Cookies we need to run the site
simp_access_token, simp_id_token and simp_refresh_token keep you signed in, simp_auth_state protects the sign-in while it happens, and simp_session keeps you signed in, records whether you have a plan and whether your sign-up is finished, and remembers your checkout answers (the plan and billing term you picked). The page itself cannot read the first four.
simp_checkout_dob remembers your checkout answers, and the referral code in a friend's link if you arrive through one, so you can carry on where you left off. Once you sign in, they are encrypted and tied to your account. They are deleted when you pay, except your date of birth, which is kept until your number is set up. simp_checkout_link keeps the plan you chose while you sign in, and simp_switch_account remembers, briefly, that you asked to use a different account.
- simp_signin_method: Remembers whether you signed in with Apple or Google, so your account can show it.
- simp_reauth: If you've been signed out, this asks Apple or Google to show their sign-in screen again, so you're signed back in to the right account.
- simp_auth_restart: If signing in fails, this lets us try once more automatically, and stops it from repeating.
- simp_legacy_access, simp_legacy_id, simp_legacy_refresh: Keeps your old sign-in for a few minutes while you move your account to Apple or Google, then it's deleted.
- simp_claim: Holds your account link for a few minutes while you sign in, so we can finish moving your account.
These are strictly necessary: without them you could not sign in or pay. They last only as long as signing in or checkout needs them, and the analytics switch below does not touch them.
Cookies we use to measure the site
simp_aid is a random id, made up when you first arrive and linked to nothing about who you are. It lets us count visits rather than page loads. It lasts a year.
simp_cmp and simp_utm record which campaign link brought you here, the first and the most recent. They last 30 days.
simp_ft records the website that sent you here, by its address only and never the page you were on, the first page you opened on our site, and which ad network's link it was if you came from an ad. It lasts 30 days.
simp_xp and simp_ho record which version of a page you were shown when we are comparing two, and whether you are in the small group that always sees the usual one. They last 30 days. Every version shows the same prices and the same plans.
simp_int marks our own team's visits so they can be left out of the numbers. It lasts a year.
None of them holds your name, email address, phone number, address or card, and none of them is set while analytics are off.
Who measures it
PostHog counts and analyzes these visits for us, as our service provider, in the European Union. Your browser sends them to our own address, which passes them on, so the page only ever talks to us.
PostHog keeps a small record in your browser's local storage to tell one visit from the next, and simp_exposed notes which page comparisons you have already been counted in.
Session recordings, heatmaps and automatic capture of what you type are off.
PostHog keeps these measurements for a year and then deletes them. Our privacy policy explains what it means that this is outside Canada.
Your account
In Canada, we do not link your visits to this site to your Simp account.
Turning analytics off
The switch below saves one cookie, simp_optout, which records your choice and nothing else, for a year. It deletes the measuring cookies above (simp_ft on the next page you open) and anything PostHog stored, and from then on the site sets none of them and shows you the usual version of every page.
Β
Global Privacy Control
If your browser sends the Global Privacy Control signal, we read it as your choice to turn analytics off, on every visit, without you doing anything here.
Your browser's settings
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser's settings. If you block the cookies we need, you will not be able to sign in or pay.
Other things kept in your browser
The landing page remembers, until you close the tab, that you have seen its opening animation. The support chat keeps what it needs in your browser so a reload does not lose your conversation. If you pick a country with the country switcher, simp_market remembers it for a year, so the site opens in that country's version. If you arrive through one of our links that names a country, it remembers that country until you close your browser. None of these is used to measure you.
Outside services
Our payment provider's secure form runs in your browser when you pay, so your card number goes straight to it and never to us. It sets its own cookies to keep payments secure and prevent fraud.
When you use our website support chat without signing in, the chat talks directly to our support system, which may set its own cookie to keep your conversation together and limit misuse.
Nothing else on this site loads from another company: no advertising, no tag managers, no maps, no video players and no social media buttons.
