Version 1.4. Last updated October 29, 2026

This page lists what simpmobile.com keeps in your browser, what each thing is for and how long it stays. Nothing here is used for advertising, and nothing is shared with advertisers. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

We measure how the site is used unless you turn that off, which takes one press below. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control, we read that as a no.

Cookies we need to run the site

simp_access_token, simp_id_token and simp_refresh_token keep you signed in, simp_auth_state protects your sign-in while it happens, and simp_session keeps you signed in, records whether you have a plan and whether your sign-up is finished, and remembers your checkout answers (the plan and billing term you picked). simp_checkout_dob remembers your checkout answers, and the referral code in a friend's link if you arrive through one, so you can carry on where you left off. Once you sign in, they are encrypted and tied to your account. They are deleted when you pay, except your date of birth, which is kept until your number is set up. simp_checkout_link keeps the plan you chose while you sign in, and simp_switch_account remembers, briefly, that you asked to use a different account.

  • simp_signin_method: Remembers whether you signed in with Apple or Google, so your account can show it.
  • simp_reauth: If you've been signed out, this asks Apple or Google to show their sign-in screen again, so you're signed back in to the right account.
  • simp_auth_restart: If signing in fails, this lets us try once more automatically, and stops it from repeating.
  • simp_legacy_access, simp_legacy_id, simp_legacy_refresh: Keeps your old sign-in for a few minutes while you move your account to Apple or Google, then it's deleted.
  • simp_claim: Holds your account link for a few minutes while you sign in, so we can finish moving your account.

Without these you could not sign in or pay. They last only as long as signing in or checkout needs them, and never more than 7 days. The analytics switch below does not touch them.

Cookies we use to measure the site

NameWhat it doesHow long it lasts
simp_aidA random id, linked to nothing about who you are, so we can count visitsa year
simp_cmp and simp_utmWhich campaign link brought you here, the first and the most recent30 days
simp_ftThe website that sent you here (its address only, never the page you were on), the first page you opened on our site, and which ad network's link it was if you came from an ad30 days
simp_xp and simp_hoWhich version of a page you were shown when we compare two, and whether you are in the small group that always sees the usual one30 days
simp_intMarks our own team's visits so they are left out of the numbersa year

None of them holds your name, email address, phone number, postal address or card, and none of them is set while analytics are off. Every version of a page we compare shows the same prices and the same plans.

Who measures it

PostHog counts and analyzes visits for us, as our service provider, in the EU, and may use what it receives only to provide its service to us. Your browser sends the measurements to our own address, which passes them on. PostHog keeps a small record in your browser's local storage to tell one visit from the next, and simp_exposed notes which page comparisons you have already been counted in.

We do not record your screen, make heatmaps or capture what you type. PostHog keeps these measurements for a year and then deletes them.

If you become a customer

When you sign up, your earlier visits are linked to your account by a code computed from your account with a secret key, which cannot be turned back into your account without that key. We use it to see how changes to the site affect sign-ups and how people use Simp afterwards. It is never used for advertising, and turning analytics off stops it too.

Turning analytics off

The switch below saves one cookie, simp_optout, which records your choice and nothing else, for a year. It deletes the measuring cookies above (simp_ft on the next page you open) and anything PostHog stored, and from then on the site sets none of them.

Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track

If your browser sends Global Privacy Control, we read it as your choice to turn analytics off, on every visit, and as a request to opt out of the sale and sharing of your personal information, which we do not do anyway. We do not respond to Do Not Track signals, because there is no agreed standard for them.

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser's settings. If you block the cookies we need, you cannot sign in or pay.

Other things kept in your browser

The landing page remembers, until you close the tab, that you have seen its opening animation. The support chat keeps a few notes in your browser, such as whether it is open and which conversation you are in, so a reload does not lose your place. If you pick a country with the country switcher, simp_market remembers it for a year, so the site opens in that country's version. If you arrive through one of our links that names a country, it remembers that country until you close your browser. None of these is used to measure you.

Outside services

On the checkout, our payment provider's secure form runs in your browser, so your card number goes straight to it and never to us. It sets its own cookies to keep payments secure and prevent fraud. When you chat with support without signing in, our support system may set its own cookie to keep your conversation together. Nothing else on this site loads from another company for advertising or tracking.
